Spallumcheen Council passed a motion to forward an application for a Skydiving School to the Agriculture Land Commission for approval, before concerned Spallumcheen residents were allowed to voice their opposition during a council meeting.

Vernon Skydivers want to build an 1700 feet long airstrip on J.Toporchak's farm, located in South Spallumcheen. This property was eyed in the 70;’ as future Regional Airport, located now in Kelowna. Spallumcheen council have to decide if they want such development in their rural farming community. Skydivers claim it would enhance the economy, and would fit into agriculture tourism. It has to be seen if the BC Agriculture Land Commission will allow a non-farming use on this prime farmland in Spallumcheen, for skydivers and skydiving school.

A ruling was given by the Honourable Madam Justice Saunders, Court of Appeal of, and released Mayor Hansma of his Conflict of Interest charges, filed by 39 residents of Spallumcheen, based on information provided. Spallumcheen mayor Will Hansma has won again in the effort to prove he's not in conflict of interest. A group of 39 residents had challenged that, beginning with a BC Supreme Court action in 2008 alledging the conflict over he and his sons having property involved in a rezoning. They lost last July, then went to BC Court of Appeal. Today the appeal was dismissed. Madam Justice Saunders says in the ruling there was no evidence of Hansma having a direct or indirect pecuniary (financial) interest in the bylaw, and there was no basis at all to remove him from his elected office. Readers should be advised, that Spallumcheen Council has approved in 2009 the subdivision application of Hansmas sons.

Will Hansma has to fight another Conflict of Interest battle, or is just poor judgement on his part? Since April 2009 Hansma owns the local newspaper. After that time he, Hansma, participated in all discussions and voted on Official Community Plan amendment applications. Honesty and integrity may not a big priority for him?

It coverages is concentrated in the City of Armstrong and the surrounding rural area of the Township of Spallumcheen, as well as the towns of Enderby and Falkland. Mayor Wybren Jan (Will) Hansma owns the former Armstrong Advertiser, now called Okanagan Advertiser, and the Enderby newspaper. Joli want to know: Is the Morning Star still printing Hansma’s newspapers? Is Mayor Hansma, controlling Spallumcheen’s and Enderby’s public opinion? No, no, he just owns the papers, and his papers receive advertisement from Spallumcheen and the Regional District. Can we smell Conflict of Interest, or is it just agan poor judgement on Hansma’s part?

Township of Spallumcheen in 2010: 2010 will be interesting. Residents of Spallumcheen waiting to be successful to appeal Hansma’s Conflict of Interest verdict. Mayor Will (Wybren Jan)Hansma was the first Mayor in Spallumcheen challenged by Spallumcheen residents in the Supreme Court of British Columbia for Conflict of Interest. Justice Peter Rogers ruled that Hansma was not in Conflict of Interest. "The residents could not proof that financial benefit of Hansma’s sons benefited Hansma".

In 2010 Spallumcheen residents will be invited to make comments about the OCP review. Newly elected Coun. Christine Fraser made the news by pushing for higher fines if residents violate the proposed new burning bylaw. Fraser can’t participate in any discussion regarding the SES, a new 3000 home development in the Southeast Sector of Spallumcheen, since her family owns some land in the Southeast Sector. As of today nothing was filed against Fraser of a possible election violation.

Christine Fraser, Spallumcheen’s newest councillor, was sworn in at the last council meeting of 2009. Fraser's election could raise some serious questions. Fraser promoted lower taxes by supporting controlled growth, but she is a beneficiary of the largest development SES (3000 new houses). Did she, Fraser, violate the Election act? Time will tell. Fraser's statement before the election: Keeping taxes lower by supporting controlled growth, preserving farmland..... Fraser's family property is part of the largest development in Spallumcheen SES. This development will change Spallumcheen's landscape forever. Fraser's election could be challenged in court.

Mayor Will (Wybren Jan) Hansma is stil waiting to be discharged from his alleged conflict of interest charges. 39 residents of Spallumcheen appealed the ruling of Judge Rogers, which released Hansma of conflict of interest charges.

Spallumcheen by-election results: In case you don’t know, Christine Fraser won the by-election in Spallumcheen. If she get challenged, Violation of the Election Act.) she could lose her new seat on council. Fraser promoted controlled development, but her family a part of the largest development in Spallumcheen SES. She, Fraser, supported an OCP amendment, which allows up to 3000 new houses in Spallumcheen (SES).

According to her own statement: "I Know what Spallumcheen residents want." Welcome to monkey business in Spallumcheen. Newly elected councillor Christine Fraser, was a big financial supporter for Mayor Hansma during the last municipal election (2008), who ironically cast the deciding vote to make the OCP amendment happen, which could bring fiancial gain to Fraser’s family. UHH.......... something smells in Spallumcheen. Fraser stated I will work very hard for the people of Spallumcheen..... After she got what she wants, she is talking about controlled growth. Please, councillor Fraser give your head a shake.......:-)

Spallumcheen by-election on November 21,2009. A by-election became necessary following the death of Coun. Lorna Bissell on Sept. 6. Seeking the vacant seat are David Derbowka, Terry Frame, Christine Fraser, and Steve Gunner. It will be seen if this by-election will be free of any smear campaign. During the last civic election incumbent Mayor Hansma was smearing one of his opponents in the local newspaper. Slanderous , Criminal Code of Canada SEC 303. Mayor Hansma, including the publisher and the reporter of that newspaper could be held lible. Mayor Hansma purchased the local newspaper in April 2009. In Whiterock,BC, Laura Supreme Court Judge Gerow unseated White Rock Councillor for lying before the election, and ordered him he pays $20,000 toward the cost of a by-election. A similar action against Mayor Hansma should be launched in Justice Laura Gerow's court.

We, the chimps including others, supporting legal actions against politicians, misleading voters, to get elected or re-elected. It's one of many options to replace a government or local politicians. If you tell a lie to get elected you don’t deserve to be there. What are genetically modified GM foods?, Genetic engineering techniques now allow scientists to insert specific genes into a plant or animal without having to go through the trial-and-error process of selective breeding. Percy Schmeiser is a farmer from Saskatchewan Canada, whose Canola fields were contaminated with Monsanto's genetically engineered Round-Up Ready Canola by pollen from a nearby farm. Monsanto says it doesn't matter how the contamination took place, and is therefore demanding Schmeiser pay their Technology Fee (the fee farmers must pay to grow Monsanto's genetically engineered products). According to Schmeiser, "I never had anything to do with Monsanto, outside of buying chemicals. I never signed a contract.

The majority of Spallumcheen residents don’t know what Mayor Hansma and 3 members of Council, Janice Brown, Andrew Casson, York, did to rural Spallumcheen. Residents waiting for a promised Official Community Plan review, but major changes to Spallumcheen have been already made. Did Mayor Hansma and council followed all procedures set out in the Community Charter? If not, or any other irregularities occurred, the bylaw will be Nil and Void. During the last municipal election Spallumcheen Mayor Will Hansma and elected council members promised a comprehensive Official Community Plan review in 2009.

Did council inform residents of Spallumcheen about, as it should be by law? Mayor Will Hansma casting the deciding vote to pass the by-law. Is it unethical on Hansma’s part to participate? Hansma, received $6000 out of his $8,800 election funds from 6 people having interest in the Southeast Sector? Many unanswered questions.

Farmer Joe's advise to politicians including Mayor Hansma. "If you find yourself in a hole, the first thing to do is stop digging."

Farmer Joe wrote to the newspaper and asked if they had any promotions and prizes of toilet paper listed in their newspaper. The newspaper wrote back and told him to look on page #4. Farmer Joe wrote another letter to the newspaper, "If I had your paper, I wouldn't need toilet paper." :-) :-) :-)
